Folks often forget the other side of Kent County. Farther east, and away from the historical hub of Chestertown, amidst beautiful forever fields, lies a farm who is graciously opening its doors as a reminder of times past in farmlife...that farm? - Crow Farmstay B&B. This past Saturday guests attended a unique fundraiser designed by Crow Farm owners Judy and Roy Crow to benefit the United Way of Kent County.
Guests drove the countryside of Kent on a beautiful summer eve and upon arriving they were greeted by the melodies of Crow farm cows curious about the new guests. The event featured a tour and talk by Brandon Hoy about the farm's new vineyard and tastings of the local wines of Al Cassinelli. Adding to the relaxing view of 360 degrees of forever fields was the charm of antique barns, farmyard animals, local art and musicians and home cooked regional cuisine.
All agreed that this event was something special, an experience of Kent's rural life at its best and something to crow about.
As well as operating as a "farmstay" B&B, Crow Farm sells natural grass-fed beef, original crafts and homegrown, heirloom vegetables.
