New Maryland Winery Brings Home Statewide Distinctions
For immediate release: Kennedyville, Maryland—September 4, 2013
While the average connoisseur might consider a premium dry wine from Maryland unthinkable, Crow Vineyard makes doubtful heads nod with pleasant surprise. Kent County’s first and only winery, located on a family-owned-and-operated Eastern Shore farm, brought home several prestigious awards from the 23rd Annual Maryland Governor’s Cup. Both the 2012 Vidal Blanc and Barbera Rosé, estate wines fermented with grapes grown and processed on the 365-acre farm, earned gold medals. The 2011 Barbera took a bronze. The dawn-colored Barbera Rosé also pleased enough judges’ palates to achieve Best in Class for the Rosé category.

New Winery in Kent County marks step forward for Wine Trail
3/28/2012 - Available for immediate release
On June 23 at 12 noon, the Chesapeake Wine Trail will have another destination to celebrate on the upper Eastern Shore. Crow Farm & Vineyard will be hosting the debut of their first wine tasting, of their first wines, as the first winery in Kent County. At the newly refurbished milk house, the authenticism and quality Crow Farm has applied to its, by all accounts charming and delicious, farmstay B & B and grass-fed beef will be seen in their first returns on their still expanding vineyard operation.
Available for the culinary discretion of all comers will be the varietals Vidal Blanc, Rosé, and a Sparkling Vidal made with Kent County grapes. The wines themselves were bottled with the help of St. Michael’s winery and will be available for purchase at the time of the sampling.
Hours after June 23rd are noon to 6 pm each day. To visit Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday call in advance. Come be a part of our rural renewal, and give yourself something to Crow about.
